I am trying to disconnect my washing machine but the valve has no blue tap and no slot for a screwdriver to turn 90 degrees. The connector has a screw hole which is sticking out so it looks like I might need to screw it by hand? I have a photo but can’t find anything similar online. Any help gratefully received.
Use a spanner to turn valve
most of washing machines should have a valve but some times on old fitting there's no any isolation valve so it's better to close the main stop cook and put a new one by yourself or ask a plumber to do that .
The best thing to do is , turn the water off via the main supply. Have new washing vavle fitted to the washing machin hose the same time you fitting the new machine.
Plumber is needed.... Call me
Hiya
You might need to isolate the main supply which is normally under the basin(stopcock).
Alternatively you need to isolate the water supply outside your house/flat.
Before disconnecting open the taps to make sure the pressure is removed from the system.
You must purchase the correct valve. Close the water supply. replace valve. connect the washing machine. Open the water supply. Check for leaks. Place and level the washing machine
It will be a washing machine isolation valve that you have found but many people remove the "blue tab" just incase it turns accidently when in cupboard looking and moving bottles and items.
Sounds like the lever has broken off and need a new lever it’s a5 minute job
