I am tiling my bathroom floor....it is mdf - in error, i put down mdp primer instead of pva bond....can i put pva bond on top of the mdp primer and then lay the tiles?
MDF board is not perfect subfloor for tiles you should have plywood or cement board, don't use pva... Use Sbr Bond or Mapei primer.
No don’t use pva, sbr is best or a tiling primer and I wouldn’t tile on mdf to be honest, use cement board where possible
I would recommend ply not mfg it’s not the correct timber to use to tile on
Hi, tilers do not use Pva to prep sub walls or floors an acrylic primer would be the best surface primer also I wouldn’t recommend tiling onto mdf as it swells if it gets wet and that will cause tiles to crack. The usual practice would be to use plywood or durabase matting on top of the mdf.
No you cant use PVA as a primer for tiling
It is wrong to put MDF in bathroom floor the best you should have put is ply on top of the ply should come a baker board or self leveling adhesive then tiles
